ASH Door Furniture Launches Circular Product Declarations and RehASH Refurbishment Service
ASH Door Furniture has introduced two new sustainability initiatives designed to support a more circular approach to architectural hardware: the introduction of Circular Product Declarations (CDPs) for selected pull handle models and the launch of RehASH, a refurbishment service for existing ASH products.
Circular Product Declarations provide transparent environmental data for individual products, including carbon footprint, material composition and expected product lifespan. The documents help architects, designers and contractors access clear sustainability information when specifying door hardware for commercial and architectural projects.
The first phase of the programme includes CDPs for five ASH pull handle models, with further products expected to follow.
ASH pull handles are manufactured from durable materials including stainless steel, brass and bronze, designed for long-term use in architectural environments. By publishing Circular Product Declarations, ASH aims to provide greater transparency around the environmental performance and lifecycle of its products.
Alongside this initiative, the company is launching RehASH, a refurbishment service designed to extend the lifespan of existing door furniture. The service allows worn or aged hardware to be restored to its original appearance and performance, reducing the need for replacement and helping to minimise material waste.
Where products are damaged beyond repair or refurbishment, they are responsibly recycled so that materials can be recovered rather than disposed of on site.
Together, these initiatives support ASH Door Furniture’s commitment to durable design, responsible material use and circular product lifecycles.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a Circular Product Declaration?
A Circular Product Declaration provides clear information about how a product has been designed for longevity, reuse, refurbishment and responsible end-of-life management. It helps specifiers and contractors understand the circularity credentials of door hardware more easily.
What is the RehASH refurbishment service?
RehASH is ASH Door Furniture’s refurbishment service for suitable existing door hardware. It is designed to extend product life by assessing, restoring and returning hardware to service where replacement may not be necessary.
Why refurbish architectural door hardware instead of replacing it?
Refurbishment can help reduce waste, retain more of the value already invested in a product and avoid unnecessary replacement. On suitable projects, it can also support circular economy and sustainability objectives.
Can all ASH Door Furniture products be refurbished?
Not necessarily. Whether a product is suitable for refurbishment will depend on its condition, design, finish, wear and project requirements. ASH Door Furniture can assess suitable items and advise on the appropriate route.
How can Circular Product Declarations help architects and specifiers?
They can give project teams clearer information when comparing products and considering durability, reuse, refurbishment and end-of-life options as part of a wider sustainability strategy.
Does RehASH apply to existing buildings as well as new projects?
Yes. Refurbishment can be particularly relevant on existing buildings, renovation projects and fit-outs where original door hardware is still serviceable but may need restoring, refinishing or updating.
Can refurbished hardware be refinished as part of the RehASH process?
Depending on the product and its condition, refinishing may form part of the refurbishment process. The appropriate treatment would be confirmed following assessment of the existing hardware.
How does RehASH support circular construction?
RehASH supports circular construction by helping keep suitable products in use for longer rather than automatically replacing them. This can reduce material waste and support a more resource-efficient approach to architectural hardware.
How do I find out whether existing door hardware is suitable for RehASH?
Contact ASH Door Furniture at sales@ashdoorfurniture.co.uk or call us on 0115 9874847 with details of the hardware, project and condition of the products. Photographs, quantities and available product information can help the team assess the most appropriate next step.
