Straight Pull Door Handles
In premium finishes custom sizes between 100mm - 2500mm
Straight pull handles offer clean, uninterrupted lines for modern commercial entrances and minimalist interiors. Our bespoke manufacturing process means every handle is made to your exact specifications - length, diameter, finish, and fixing method tailored to your project.
From our Nottingham workshop, we've spent 35 years creating architectural hardware for the UK's most prestigious buildings. Each straight pull handle combines CNC precision with traditional metalworking craft. We don't adapt standard products - we manufacture exactly what your project needs.
Popular applications include flagship store entrances, hotel lobby doors, contemporary office buildings, and full-height glazed doors where protruding hardware would interrupt clean sightlines.

Fixing Methods
Through-Bolt Fixing for back to back pairs or single side fixed.
Stainless steel bolts pass completely through door, connecting both handles. Strongest method. Required for fire doors and high-traffic applications. Works with timber, composite, and thick (44mm+) doors. Provides symmetrical appearance both sides.
Applications: Fire doors, heavy external doors, high-traffic commercial
Door types: Timber, composite, metal-clad
Minimum door thickness: 35mm
Surface-Mounted with Concealed Fixings
Backplate screwed to door face, fixings hidden under decorative caps. Used when through-fixing impossible (insulated fire doors, glass, thin doors). Allows single-sided replacement without door removal.
Applications: aluminium doors, thin internal doors, retrofit projects
Door types: timber, aluminium
Minimum door thickness: 35mm
Back-to-Back Glass Fixing
Stainless bolts with rubber isolation sleeves prevent stress cracks in glass. Multiple fixing points distribute load. Handle weight calculated against glass thickness and door size. UV-bonded option available for frameless installations.
Applications: Frameless glass doors, glazed entrances
Door types: Toughened glass only (10mm minimum internal, 12mm external)
Special requirements: Glass stress analysis for doors over 2500mm height
Frequently Asked Questions

Straight pull handles suit modern commercial entrances, glass doors, and minimalist interiors where clean sightlines matter. They're ideal for flagship stores, hotel lobbies, and contemporary office buildings. The vertical design works particularly well on full-height glazed doors and narrow stile frames where protruding hardware would interrupt the aesthetic. Available in custom lengths from 300mm to 25000mm to match door proportions.

Getting started is simple. Reach out through our contact form or schedule a call—we’ll walk you through the next steps and answer any questions along the wayBrushed steel and bronze patina offer superior durability in high-traffic commercial settings. Brushed steel resists fingerprints and maintains appearance through 50,000+ daily touches. Bronze patina develops protective oxidation that actually improves with age in busy hotel lobbies. Leather-wrapped handles suit luxury applications with moderate traffic.
-
Handle length should be 60-70% of door height for balanced proportions. Oversized doors (2400mm+) need handles 1500mm+ to maintain visual weight. Consider grip position: centre-mounted for glass doors, offset by 200mm from lock edge for timber doors. We calculate grip diameter based on door weight - heavier fire doors need 38mm+ diameter for comfortable operation. Send us door specifications for exact sizing recommendations.
-
Listed buildings requiring heritage aesthetics with modern fire compliance need custom solutions. Flagship stores matching exact brand RAL colours can't use standard catalogues. Hotels with unique door dimensions (non-standard heights, extra-wide entrances) require sized-to-order furniture. Any project where architect drawings specify precise measurements, finishes, or ergonomic requirements beyond standard ranges benefits from bespoke manufacturing rather than compromise.

Our standard handles such as our straight guardsman, straight D or Mitred D can take as little as 2 working days.
Bespoke straight pull handles take 2-8 weeks from approved drawings to delivery. Week 1: design consultation and working drawings. Week 2: client approval and prototype production (if required). Weeks 3-6: manufacturing, finishing, and quality inspection. Week 7-8: packaging and delivery. Rush orders can be accommodated for flagship store openings or hotel refurbishments with 2 -4-week turnaround available on request. -
Our Nottingham workshop combines CNC precision (0.1mm accuracy) with traditional metalworking craft. Prototypes get tested in your hands within a week, not shipped from overseas. Installation problems get solved with a phone call. Material sourcing from UK suppliers ensures quality control. Thirty-five years of expertise means we've solved problems import catalogues haven't encountered yet.

Yes, when specified correctly. Straight pull handles on fire doors need certifire-approved fixing methods and intumescent seals. Handle projection must not obstruct emergency egress routes (check Building Regulations Approved Document B). We provide CE marking, fire rating documentation, and installation guidance for compliance officers. Through-bolt fixing required for 60-minute+ fire doors. Consult us during design stage to ensure specification meets both aesthetic and regulatory requirements.
-
32mm diameter suits standard internal doors under 45kg. 38mm diameter works for heavy external doors, fire doors, and high-traffic applications where comfortable grip matters. 45mm+ diameter needed for oversized entrance doors or when specifying for accessibility (easier grip for reduced hand strength). Round profiles suit modern aesthetics; oval (32x25mm) provides ergonomic grip on narrow stile doors. We can prototype different diameters for client testing before final production.
