Architects Questions Answered: Practical Installation

What fixing centres do you recommend?

The fixing centres are completely up to your discretion. We make every handle made to measure so specific measurements are no problem. This helps with replacing existing handles on a project or ensuring a handle fits perfectly with your vision. Each handle has a minimum and maximum centre length on the data sheet but longer handles can be manufactured with an additional fixing point to maintain strength.

Do you supply back-to-back fixings?

Our fixing systems are designed to work perfectly with timber, metal, and glass doors, and can be tailored to fit varying door thicknesses. We also offer rebate fixings for a flush, seamless look. Choose from countersunk fixings, decorative caps, or elegant roses to suit your style. For single-sided pull handles, we can supply push plates to neatly cover visible fixings, or a completely hidden fixing for a clean finish.

Are the handles suitable for external installation (e.g., marine-grade stainless steel)?

We can provide 316 grade stainless steel which is appropriate for marine and coastal environments. It’s highly resistant to saltwater, coastal air, and harsh weather, so it’s the standard choice for external doors, seaside locations, swimming pools, and high-humidity areas. We also can manufacture in solid bar, rather than tubular, if required.

What’s the lead time for custom sizes?

All of our handles are manufactured to order; we do not hold any stock. Our standard lead time is 10-15 working days but this can decrease if we have the capacity to manufacture the handle faster. Bespoke projects or particularly unique projects may require an extended lead time, but this will be communicated to you when placing the order.
